order deadline: june 22

This page is a fundraiser for the Theobald family who lost their home in the Grinnell, KS tornado on May 18, 2025.
We are incredibly thankful that they are all safe but the road ahead will be long.
A portion of their story is below and we've designed a tee inspired by the family to support them as they rebuild.

It is the prayer of the Theobald family that their faith through this tragedy is an encouragement to
you and that you praise HIM in whatever storms may come.

Daily Diary:

A tornado hit us tonight. I am thankful we are all okay. Thanks for all the prayers. We have a long road ahead of us.

Cleanup Day 1- A BIG thank you to all who came out to help us begin the cleanup process. It was greatly appreciated. The KAKE news summed up how we are feeling. Very grateful for answered prayers and family & friends.

Day 2- 3:30am to 1:13 am . This has been longest and hardest day of them all. I was up before the sunrise to find our cat. I was right. With no-one around and no loud machinery Smoky ventured back home. Not sure where she was hiding out, but it was an answer to prayer we have her back. She was in our house very confused and scared. Thanks for all the help of family and friends in our second day of clean-up. We accomplished a lot!

Day 3- Today I was interviewed by 100.3 The Ride. We loaded our last trailer and dug up some flowers to share with Aunt Sally. Jacy & Daniel took a break from being onsite and enjoyed playing games with Jordyn & Wendell. Today is the day I signed the paperwork officially stating our house is a complete loss. I shed many tears as I visited with friends. Thanks for all your prayers. I will share a link to help all the families in Grinnell who have lost their homes.

Day 4- Leveling Day. I was there early taking my final walk through videoing the house and telling the history of it and what happened the night of the tornado. I found some last minute treasures like my medals for high school and the kids antique framed pictures. It was a difficult day as we watched our home being crushed to pieces. We sat on a bench I had saved and listened to praise music. I also dug up a few of my flowers and put them in my old hamper and baskets. After it was all done, we went to the school to see the damages. We went back at sundown for pictures in the basement, finding a few more last minute treasures to take back with us. The light up football that was the boys, was a perfect find! Thanks for all your prays we navigate these new waters.

Day 5- Paperwork, sorting through items and a perfect last find to remind me how we did have angles watching over all of us in Grinnell on May 18, 2025 when the F3 tornado destroyed many homes. I took a picture of all the homes both North & South of us have been leveled. The angles were found in a box marked Christmas and was under the AC unit. What are the chances of it not breaking after all the demolition? I also drove north of the railroad tracks for the first time. Through it all…God is good all the time. All the time God is good.

Day 6- I sorted through some tubs and worked on cleaning some salvageable items this morning. Then took a break and went to Cruise Shoes & BBQ in Grainfield. We played pickle ball and did the 5k color run for Lisa. I only went to the site to check on our outdoor cats. It was sure great to see the kids smiling and having fun today.

Day 7- One week ago from the night the tornado hit. Today is a day to be thankful.
*Thank you Jesus for keeping us all safe, including our pets.

*Thank you to all the ladies who helped at the store and sent clothing and supplies needed for all.
*Thank you to all the volunteers who have spent many hours sorting through and picking up trash.
*Thank you for friends and family who have provided support in many ways.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
Give Thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Today we went back to clean up some more after we had some rain. In the mud Daniel found one small china plate that my Grandma Roberta Book had painted for me when I was a young girl. It was from a tea set she made me. Then I see a photo sticking out of some rubble. When I turn it over, it was Jett from his junior year at WHS. This photo was still attached to my fridge before the tornado. It is a great reminder, “A Champion is Someone Who Gets Up When He Can’t.”  Right now, it is the little things that matter, and keeping faith that God has been and always will be there for us.

They finished knocking down the walls of the basement today. We lived in that house for over 12 years. We had been to the basement shower many times before this for tornado warnings. This time it was different and a night I will never forget Thank you Jesus for keeping is all safe and guide us as we move forward into new opportunities.

I went back today to dig up the sidewalk Trey and I build probably 10 or more years ago. I figured no one would want the brick and stones buried in the dirt and I can take some pieces of our backyard with me. I was also lucky enough to find one of my old wagon wheels under some rubble undamaged.

From Great Image Designs and the Theobald family, we are grateful for your support!
